What we’ll focus on

Highlighted in orange = 7 Forms of Respect Example

This course is primarily about how to design an interactive online experience (IOE). We'll be covering that from Module 2 through Module 7.

  • How to plan and get organized around the design of IOE (Module 8)
  • Communicate with your participants beforehand and afterwards (Module 9)
  • Facilitate online (Module 10). Now, this is not about facilitation. We expect you to know the basics of facilitation.
  • How to evaluate your IOE for future improvements (Module 11)

To demonstrate how we create an IOE, from start to finish, we're going to be using one of CuriosityBased’s most popular topics, the 7 Forms of Respect. We'll show you how we created this IOE and the different elements of it, so you can have a real understanding of what goes into the design of an IOE.

Here are the 8 learning objectives of this course:

  1. To help you design an IOE from start to finish on Zoom.
  2. To learn what the common mistakes and constraints are that will impact the design of your IOE.
  3. To keep your participants both engaged and curious.
  4. How to ensure that your IOE is inclusive and accessible.
  5. How to navigate the different tech tools that you can use so that you can have an effective and efficient IOE.
  6. How to organize and manage yourself and others while you're creating this IOE.
  7. How to evaluate your IOE for future improvements.
  8. How to gain confidence in conducting an IOE on Zoom.

Here is what this course WILL NOT DO for you:

  1. We’re not going to be able to show you how to translate an in-person experience into an online experience.
  2. We’re not going to show you how to do hybrid, which is when you accommodate both in-person and online participants.
  3. We’re not going to be able to help you identify your topic and to write your content.
  4. We’re not going to be able to show you how to create an IOE on any other video conferencing platform other than Zoom.
  5. We’re not going to be able to show you how to facilitate.
  6. We’re not going to be able to give you one-on-one feedback.

We're so excited to guide you through this journey of designing and facilitating your own interactive online experiences. We hope you gain lots of knowledge and insights on how you can master interactive online experience design.
